One of the Best
This is a great CD! All the songs are awesome! My little girl likes to sing along to "Syrup and Honey". Everyone should check it out! I love it! 2008-09-16
duffy is awful good !!
Duffy has done a great job of her tunes here. I like each one and she adds some sweet nuances that are feminine and sexy while delivering the music in a clear, melody. Enjoyed the album. Wished their were more cuts on it. Found it short. NCB. Okanagan,Canada 2008-09-15
Okay, but I was expecting more
This CD is alright. "Rockferry" and "Warwick Avenue" are great songs. The rest to me are ehh. I had much higher expectations after hearing many rave reviews. Her voice just doesn't sound effortlessly powerful to me (compared to some other similar female artists) and she sounds like she has a cold....if she could just get rid of some of that nasal sound, could be a lot better...and if she could just get rid of some of the cheesy lyrics. 2008-09-15
Great voice!
I have enjoyed this CD. I especially love Rockferry, Serious, Stepping Stone and Mercy. She has a great voice. Now hopefully she'll stay off the Winehouse/Allen path, if you know what I mean! 2008-09-15
Loved it!
I don't know who Dusty Springfield is, and I could care less about Duffy being a contestant on British Idol, and some other stuff I read in the reviews here. All I care about is that I love the sound, the lyrics and her voice.
The lyrics are meaningful and beautiful, the voice is unusual and very pretty, the songs are amazing, and I can actually sing along with her.
I almost cry every time I hear "I'm Scared" song, because it echoes my own feelings.
