Using scanner to convert old photo albums to digital files. Very easy to use and I am pleased with the quality of the scanned files. I wish the scanner had a power button though. Not a big deal and the price is very reasonable. 2008-08-08
Slow but good.
The software and hardware both work well. The auto crop feature is very convienient. Color fidelity is good even from color negatives. Pre-scan editing tools are very intuitive. Overall it is fairly slow, at a decent resolution it takes about one minute per color slide. Platen scans are faster. The slide adapter is a bit klugey and flimsey. Certainly worth the price. 2008-08-07
Scanner Great, Mac software not so much
This a a great little scanner. Not as good as my aging, bulky and costly HP scanner, it was not meant to be it's replacement. The scanner is small, does whats it is supposed to do, the colors a very good and in some respects better then my old HP. The ability to scan 33mm negatives is just icing on the cake. However using it with a Mac, Tiger as well as Leopard is a bit of a chore, some extra steps are needed to get it to work but they become painless after a bit. I never have gotten the front buttons to work, but then again I never would have used them so what the hey. Great scanner, not too much racket making scans but the software does suck but you can work around that. 2008-08-07
Canoscan 4400F
The Canon printer I own works just fine, so I didn't want to buy a combo product. The subject scanner may have been manufactured a few years ago, but it works with my Windows Vista system so I'm happy. 2008-08-05
Very pleased
We have a large number of 35mm slides that I wanted to put on a CD. The Canon CanoScan 4400F was the right choice for the job. The cost was right too. The softwear that can with the scanner is also great and easy to use. I would recommend this scanner for general scanning as well as for slides. 2008-08-05
