According to Dr. Oz and You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Extending Your Warranty (You), walking 30 minutes a day is a critical aspect of taking care of your body as well as working up to 10,000 steps a day ... so this was one of several products I purchased I as I implemented the Staying Young program.

This pedometer is much larger than any other pedometer I've owned (I've had a few over the years) and I don't particularly care for the size, but it wallops a great punch of features that have made it worthwhile ...

1. This is the easiest one ever to set-up, read, review, etc.

2. It can tell when you're 'walking around' versus 'really walking' -- It tracks all your steps regardless of intensity but it also and tracks a second category as aerobic steps (you just hit the lowest middle 'mode' button to read this subset information). It also tells you distance and calories burned.

3. It resets itself to 0 every morning and has a seven day memory.

4. The belt clip that comes with it is secure and easy to use.

If you are making a commitment to better health and it involves a walking program of any kind, I think this would be a great enhancement to your commitment and success.

My daughter and I both got one of these. It's so fun to see how many steps you actually take in a normal day! It's been fun to use! It even shows you how many calories you are burning. We love it! Now my hubby wants one!

Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer

I love this pedometer. It is the only one I've had that is reliably accurate in my pocket, plus has a clip attachment so I can clip it on the waist of pants that I have no pocket in. I also love how it can track mileage, calories, aerobic steps (steps that exceed 10 continuous minutes) and retains memory of previous days readings.

I wanted a pedometer to help me with health & weight loss efforts. Out of convenience I purchased a couple from our gym, for my Husband and myself. They were small, simple clip ons but we didn't need anything fancy. We had set a goal to walk a certain number of miles by a certain date and I thought they would give us the data we needed to meet the goal. Well, I was wrong!-- within a day's time I was ready to throw it in the trash! It not only wasn't accurate, but it fell off my waist band 3 times in the first 2 hours I wore it.

I had an Omron similar to this years ago that I LOVED but could not find one or anything like it locally. Of course I found it @ Amazon. Initially I ordered 2 and eventually 2 more. One for my son that decided he too could work towards a fitness goal and one for a co-worker that loved walking and became goal oriented when she saw mine. I only paid 5 dollars more than the cheapo's from the gym and these are a million times better! You can read all they do in the description, it's all true. After weeks of use I can tell you that ours are accurate, sturdy, easy to set up & use.

We all LOVE our units and wear them everyday. We are well on our way to our end of year goal! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a great pedometer and a decent price!
