Lots of Possibilities
I bought this translator for a trip to Greece. I wanted an electronic translator instead of a phrase book for convenience and weight limitations in the carry-on. This was one of the few translators, and most reasonably priced, that included Greek in their language options. I liked that the Greek and Cyrillic alphabets were displayed in the responses for Greek and Russian - not just English pronunciations. I did not unfortunately, use the language translator very much - it was easier to speak English when possible (and it was usually possible). It has several additional features that make the purchase worthwhile - a world time clock, calculator, telephone directory, and conversion calculator which was very handy when dealing in the metric system. I wouldn't use this device without prior knowledge of the language, you shouldn't assume every response is correct. There are enough extras on the translator to make it a handy assistant if you know how to use it.

I still have not gotten this Lingo to work properly.
Can I call the Manufacturer to help me?
Please advise. Thanks.

Lingo TR-1650 Travel Mate 16 Language Translator Review
The translation is horrible. I am fluent in English and Spanish and out of 10 words, only 2 were correctly translated.

Great service!
Came in time for Christmas, best price around, and my mother loved the gift! Would definitely work with them again.

Translates Adequately. Nothing Magical, But Still Quite Useful.
As of this writing, I am now using this device in South Korea to help with a job I have as a teacher. When you key in an English word, it provides a Romanized phonetic version of the word for you to say. This device has gotten me out of a lot of binds and made life easier, but it is far from perfect. The Romanized English versions of the Korean words and phrases only serve to approximate Korean phonemes and the vocabulary is a bit limited. I would say that this device is probably better geared toward the weekend business traveler than someone, like me, who is here on a long-term stay.

Since I am fluent in Spanish, I tried translating from English to Spanish and I've found that this works effectively. Translating to French also works pretty well. I haven't tried the other languages yet. But, if works as well for those languages as it does for Korean, French, and Spanish, then I would have to say that this is an "OK" translator. I have seen much better ones out there, but for the price for how much this offers, this can't be beat.
